Coronavirus has put a lot of summer holiday plans to a halt. As children go back to school and holiday prices go down, September is usually a popular time for people with no children to go on holiday. This year is a bit different, travelling is a bit riskier so staycations are becoming a popular option. With summer coming to an end you might want to squeeze in one last summer holiday and England can be an amazing place to do that. These are 10 of the best beaches in the UK that you might want to visit over the next few weeks.

Llanddwyn Island, Wales

Llanddwyn is a remote tidal island which is located off the coast of Anglesey, it is in the north-west of Wales. This island is only a short distance from mainland wales and is also very close to the Snowdonia National Park. This island can be easily reached by car along the A55 North Wales Expressway for a toll charge of £5 per vehicle.

Compton Bay, Isle of Wight

Compton Beach is one of the more hidden gems of the Isle of Wight. It is located on the west of the island and covers a 2 mile stretch of beautiful sands and white chalk cliffs. This beach is popular among everyone from surfers to families as there are amazing waves but also plenty of ice cream vans, food and drink nearby.

Blackpool Sands, England

This is a blue flag award-winning beach surrounding by the beautiful English greenery. THis is a privately managed beach meaning it is well looked after to high standards. Whether you are looking for a beautiful place to go with the family or even a romantic getaway, this beach is perfect for all.

Pedn Vounder, England

This beach is located on the south coast in Cornwall. This beach is very secluded so you can only reach it by boat or a coastal path along the cliffs where to decent via the rocks. For most people going by boat is a safe and easier option. However, if you are planning to go swimming this might not be the best place to do so as the currents can be very strong.

Achmelvich Beach, Scotland

This is a popular beach in Scotland with plenty of caravan and camping spots nearby. Whether you want to do water skiing, windsurfing or kayaking, this is the place to go. As well as these fun activities, there are plenty of walks and climbs nearby too.
